Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo remains on Manchester United’s radar after an impressive start to the 2025/26 season.
With Manchester United sitting 10th in the Premier League after seven matches, every fan recognises the need for improvement when the team returns after the October international break.
United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland prevented back-to-back defeats, which would have seen Ruben Amorim come under even more pressure, but a convincing first-half performance followed by goals from Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko saved the day.
One team overachieving in the early stages of the season is Bournemouth. Andoni Iraola has been linked with the United job, and he currently has the Cherries positioned fourth in the Premier League.

It helps Bournemouth that they have one of the most in-form players in the league right now, with United target Antoine Semenyo registering nine goal contributions in eight games.
Semenyo scored a brace against Fulham at the Vitality Stadium before the international break as Bournemouth won the match 3-2.
Only time will tell if United will move for Semenyo again after improving their attacking ranks in the summer.

Man Utd still interested in Antoine Semenyo
The summer transfer window saw United sign five players, although three of them strengthened the attacking department.
Sesko arrived from RB Leipzig to lead the line, after Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo joined as two number 10s with valuable Premier League experience.
United opted to sign Cunha and Mbeumo over Semenyo in the summer. However, there is a belief that they are still keeping a close eye on the Bournemouth star after his incredible start to the new season.
Bournemouth will have a fight on their hands to keep Semenyo because United are not the only club watching the Ghana international.
Football reporter Dean Jones claims United are still interested in Semenyo, despite signing Cunha and Mbeumo in the summer. He adds that Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are also paying attention to the Premier League star.
“And I think at the end of this season, Bournemouth can expect to fight once again to hold on to him. Tottenham we know of interest in him,” Jones told the Ranks FC podcast.
“Man United, I’m told still have an interest, despite the fact that they’ve signed Cunha and Mbeumo.
“I’m told they still do like Semenyo and would consider him going forward. Bayern Munich have also come into the picture here. They’ve been linked and I’m told that that is a legitimate link.”
Antoine Semenyo among Premier League’s top scorers
It’s still early days in the 2025/26 season, but Man City’s Erling Haaland is almost on double figures for goals.
Semenyo, who has earned links to United, has six goals and three assists to his name. That means he is second in the goalscoring charts.
Igor Thiago is fourth in the rankings after scoring two of his four goals against United.
- Erling Haaland – 9 goals
- Antoine Semenyo – 6
- Jaidon Anthony – 4
- Igor Thiago – 4
- Hugo Ekitike – 3
Unfortunately, United haven’t got any early contenders for the Premier League’s Golden Boot award, but Sesko and Bruno Fernandes have both scored two goals each.
