Manchester United are looking closer and closer to completing the signing of Benjamin Sesko this summer from RB Leipzig after the latest developments.

The Premier League campaign begins in under two weeks and Manchester United’s attack is looking primed to blow Arsenal away on the opening weekend at Old Trafford.

Comparing this season’s attacking options with those available last season are night and day, with United now boasting Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha who will be the envy of division if both are able to replicate their form in red.

However, last season’s offence was so bad that two additions are not enough, pushing United to chase a new number nine as well this summer.

This week, United have lodged a bid for Benjamin Sesko worth an initial £65m with another £8m in add-ons, which would add a true physical demon to the ranks of Ruben Amorim’s attack after two years of Rasmus Hojlund struggling physically in the league.

United in Focus exclusively revealed last week that United are confident of securing Sesko, having told him they can afford the transfer, and this is beginning to come to fruition.

Fabrizio Romano on Manchester United’s feelings around Benjamin Sesko

Ineos have been undeniably successful in their ambitious summer transfer market, signing pretty much every player they have seriously targeted and beat competition as well.

Now, all signs are suggesting that this will also be the case with Sesko.

United bidding for Sesko indicates that there is real confidence as Ineos are only bidding when they are aware a player will join.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has tweeted to claim that United’s confidence is “even stronger”, as of Tuesday night, than it has been over the past few days.

“The club believes”, Romano explains, that Sesko only wants to join Manchester United this summer, as negotiations with RB Leipzig continue around the £73m package that was offered to the German side.

United’s seriousness is shown as they have forwarded the official contract proposal to Sesko on Tuesday, which all suggests that a deal might be wrapped up in time for kick-off against Fiorentina on Saturday.

Benjamin Sesko will score plenty of goals at Manchester United

While not completed or nailed on, United look increasingly likely now to sign Sesko as addition number three this summer, and we fully expect he will be in the squad to face Arsenal at this rate.

Much has been made of the pursuit, with United fans concerned about Sesko for his lack of experience, having been stung by Rasmus Hojlund two years ago.

However, it is different as Sesko already has a large goal catalogue, with such a range of goals from right foot to left foot and headers.

Meanwhile, Christopher Vivell is a big fan of Sesko, having signed him previously, so for the head of recruitment to know a player so well and push for his signature should speak volumes.

Sesko is such a different signing to Hojlund and he will score plenty at United.
