Marcus Rashford has now missed six consecutive games at Manchester United since his bombshell interview.

At the start of December, Marcus Rashford twice against Everton in a 4-0 thumping and it looked as though he could star under Ruben Amorim.

However, just two weeks later Rashford was dropped for the Manchester derby and all of a sudden those two goals against Everton could be his last ever in a United shirt.

That is because Rashford dropped a bombshell interview after United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City where he revealed he is open to a new challenge.

Rashford was recalled against Newcastle but failed to get onto the pitch during the miserable 2-0 defeat. He then missed the Liverpool game through illness.

Marcus Rashford’s wages prove to be a stumbling block

Rashford currently earns £300,000 per week at United, making him one of the club’s top earners. Selling Rashford would solve PSR issues at Old Trafford, but finding potential suitors has proven difficult.

Journalist David Ornstein claims a Rashford deal is “difficult” in January due to his wages, as well as the concerning reports about his behaviour and attitude.

Rashford wants to join Barcelona, but the La Liga giants are certainly in no shape to register another high-earning player.

There are only a handful of clubs who could offer Marcus Rashford a similar salary but PSG are playing down Rashford links, and he does not seem keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League.

One exit route that could be considered is a move to Italy…

AC Milan willing to pay Marcus Rashford’s wages

Serie A strugglers AC Milan have shown interest in Rashford and would be willing to take him on loan until the end of the season.

Once again, though, the discussion then turns to Rashford’s wages. United will want them off their books, while it is a hefty salary for Milan to cover.

According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, though, Milan are open to paying Rashford’s £300,000 per week wages.

The report adds that paying his salary until the end of the season is within Milan’s budget so reaching an agreement “would not be a problem” for the Italian giants.

With Rashford struggling to make his way back into Amorim’s plans, Milan have offered a potential exit route this month.
