Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is now attracting interest from Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the January transfer window.
The January window is now just over a week away from opening.
We aren’t expecting United to be too busy in January; Financial Fair Play means it could be a quiet month in terms of incomings.
One departure is imminent with Donny van de Beek set to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, and we can surely expect Jadon Sancho to go too.
The United winger hasn’t featured since August following a bust-up with boss Erik ten Hag and the rift is unlikely to end.
Bayer Leverkusen join race to sign Jadon Sancho
United would probably love to offload Sancho in January but his hefty wages make a deal somewhat tricky.
A loan deal seems likely and there have been lingering rumours over a potential return to Borussia Dortmund.
90min now claim that three other Bundesliga clubs – Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart – have all initiated talks to sign Sancho.
Leverkusen sit top of the Bundesliga table and may feel that a January deal for Sancho can boost their title hopes.
Xabi Alonso is working wonders right now and Leverkusen are seemingly keen to bring Sancho back to the Bundesliga having dazzled in German football with Dortmund.
Sancho hit 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games for Dortmund and Leverkusen may feel that he can get back to his best with a return to the Bundesliga.

United may be tempted by Sancho swap
Leverkusen’s interest in Sancho comes amid claims that United fancy signing a number of Alonso’s key players.
Reports in November suggested that United are looking to land Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.
The German centre back has been a key part of Leverkusen’s push for the Bundesliga title this season.
Tah, 27, is a rock in Leverkusen’s back line, possessing a huge frame and a decent turn of pace.
United will surely be looking to sign another defender in 2024 and Tah could fit the bill with his experience and athletic profile.
United also have an admiration of Leverkusen right wing back Jeremie Frimpong and looked into signing him last summer.
Leverkusen’s fancying Sancho may just leave United tempted to try a cheeky swap deal for one of those Leverkusen stars.
Sancho certainly has no future under Ten Hag and it may be worth asking Leverkusen about an exchange, potentially landing a first-team addition in a swap for an unwanted player.
