Manchester United defender Alex Telles is being lined up by Al Nassr to join Cristiano Ronaldo.
It has not been going too well for Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr lately, with his new side in Saudi Arabia at risk of finishing the season trophyless.
The club’s manager has been sacked, while Ronaldo’s behaviour has come under fire as his frustration shows.
It may be good news for Ronaldo then, that Al Nassr are reportedly looking at bringing one of his former Manchester United teammates to the club.
Alex Telles wanted on loan
Spanish newspaper AS report Al Nassr want to sign Alex Telles. The defender is currently out on loan at Spanish side Sevilla.
Al Nassr are reportedly keen on signing Alex Telles on a loan deal, which is not going to be too tempting for United.
They are however said to be willing to cover his wages in their entirety, which is better than nothing for United if there are no bids for him on a permanent basis.
The report does not shed any light on whether Telles would find the move appealing, citing his still important role at Sevilla, and competing interest from Galatasaray.
Why Al Nassr want Alex Telles
Alex Telles played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2021/22 season for Manchester United, and both players scored in the Champions League win against Villarreal in the striker’s first month back at the club.
Telles does share an intriguing record. He was the only Manchester United player last season who provided two Premier League assists for Cristiano Ronaldo.
These came from set piece goals late in the campaign, with Telles assisting Ronaldo from corner kicks against Norwich City and Tottenham Hotspur, games in which the striker bagged back to back hat-tricks.
Even Bruno Fernandes only provided one league assist for Ronaldo, away at Tottenham early in the campaign.
