Now history has repeated itself already at Cristiano Ronaldo’s new club Al Nassr.
Al Nassr announced they have sacked Rudi Garcia from his role as manager after eight months in charge.
Al Nassr manager sacked
Al Nassr made the decision to sack Rudi Garcia with the team sitting in second place in the Saudi Pro League table.
They were eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup at the semi-final stage earlier this year.
Cristiano Ronaldo paid tribute to Garcia despite his sacking, suggesting this was not something he had a direct hand in.
He wrote on Instagram: “Pleasure to have worked with you. Wishing you the best for the future.”
Rudi Garcia was actually linked with Manchester United as interim boss, with talks held, The National reported, before Ralf Rangnick was selected.
Ronaldo signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Al Nassr in January after engineering his release from Manchester United at the back end of 2022.
We can only wonder how many managers will come and go during his time there. Where Ronaldo goes, extra attention and pressure follows.
Let’s hope Al Nassr’s replacement has a smoother relationship with Ronaldo than Erik ten Hag did.
