Manchester United will be seeking attacking additions in 2025 as Ruben Amorim looks to turn his side into a real force.

Ruben Amorim has his first statement win as Manchester United boss.

Amorim watched on as United pulled off a stunning comeback to beat Manchester City 2-1 on Sunday afternoon, scoring twice late on to win the game.

Amad Diallo made himself the hero, winning a penalty late on before scoring the winner at the Etihad Stadium.

Amorim will be delighted with the win but won’t be fooled into thinking that United’s problems have suddenly disappeared.

United need reinforcements in 2025 and Amorim may want attacking additions with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho axed against City.

Kenan Yildiz reacts to Paul Scholes praise

One man on United’s radar is Juventus wonderkid Kenan Yildiz.

Reports earlier in December suggested that United are interested in signing Yildiz having been impressed with his development in Italy.

Yildiz will allegedly cost around £67million and he appears to have gained a new fan this season.

The 19-year-old – who can play up front, out wide or as a number 10 – impressed as Juventus beat Manchester City in the Champions League last week.

United legend Paul Scholes took to Instagram to post ‘Who the **** is this Yildiz’ alongside four clapping emojis.

Scholes was clearly impressed as Yildiz caused problems for Kyle Walker and the United target has now offered his reaction.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Yildiz admitted that it’s a ‘pleasure’ to receive praise from a ‘champion’ like Scholes, especially after a huge win over City.

“Well, being appreciated by a champion like him can only be a pleasure,” said Yildiz.

“It’s a source of pride, a great satisfaction, especially because the compliments came after an important victory like the one against Manchester City,” he added.

Scholes would no doubt love to see Yildiz join United but luring the teenager away from Juve will not be easy.

Manchester United target Yildiz wins award

Yildiz was speaking after being given an award for his huge potential.

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has won the Golden Boy Award for 2024, but Yildiz has been handed the Golden Boy Web award.

This award is voted for by the public with Yildiz’s performances seemingly dazzling fans across the world.

That just goes to show how impressive Yildiz has been for Juve, bagging four goals and four assists in 22 games.

Yildiz’s attacking versatility makes him potentially ideal for Amorim but whether United are willing to splash huge cash on him remains to be seen.
