Manchester United are set to strengthen the attack this summer, and one Premier League star looks like an obvious contender to be signed.
Ruben Amorim’s top priority for recruitment this summer will surely be adding to his toothless frontline options.
It is offensively that Manchester United’s major issues this season lie with Rasmus Hojlund scoring just eight goals in 44 appearances, which is a horrendous record for a striker.
Manchester United top scorers 2024/25
- Bruno Fernandes – 17
- Alejandro Garnacho – 10
- Amad Diallo – 9
- Rasmus Hojlund – 8
- Marcus Rashford – 7
- Joshua Zirkzee – 7
However, the general lack of goals in the team outside of Bruno Fernandes is something which Ineos have already made plans to address with Premier League experience being a sought after quality possessed by several options.
United are considering both Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha, both of whom are have spectacular season’s for their respective sides.
Meanwhile, another option to be consistently linked with Old Trafford is Bryan Mbuemo from Brentford.

Bryan Mbeumo puts in a special performance for Brentford vs Brighton
One of the most exciting players in the Premier League right now is Mbeumo, with his electric performances for Brentford catching the eye of many top clubs in England.
Mbeumo would be an upgrade on anything United have in attack, and his latest performance was another sensational reminder of his brilliance.
On Saturday, Brentford took on Brighton at home and picked up a 4-2 win which places them two points behind the south coast side. In this win, it was Mbeumo who was the standout player.
Mbeumo scored twice and assisted once in the game, with absolutely phenomenal stats, making a good case for him to be Ineos’ top target this summer.
Bryan Mbeumo stats vs Brighton
| Stat | Vs. Brighton |
| Minutes | 90 |
| Goals | 2 |
| Assists | 1 |
| Chances created | 7 |
| Touches | 64 |
| Successful dribbles | 4/5 |
| Crossing | 4/8 |
| Tackles | 3/4 |
| Duels won | 12/17 |
This takes Mbeumo’s goal tally to 18 in the Premier League this season, which only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak have scored more than.
Mbeumo is a phenomenal forward, but as seen in the stats against Brighton, he also offers excellent off the ball quality with his duels and tackles won which is bound to delight Amorim as he famously demanded his players run like dogs.
This performance makes it clear that Mbeumo should be signed this summer.
Manchester United should be seriously considering Mbeumo move
With all the forwards being linked to United, there may be none who would be as ready-made to elevate the club as Mbeumo would.
Back in January, it was reported that Amorim was a ‘huge admirer’ of Mbeumo, with his all around skillset seen as something which could revolutionise United.
Now, Brentford are resigned to selling Mbeumo this summer and no matter what, United need to be at the front of the queue for the Cameroonian, who is expected to cost £50m.
At just 25, Mbeumo would represent the need for players capable of coming in and making an immediate impact. A far better choice than Tyler Dibling, for example and a right side of Mbeumo and Amad Diallo, for example, would be absolutely perfect.
