Manchester United moved into the top half of Premier League 2 with an impressive victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
Arnau Puigmal scored twice to make it six goals in five games for the season. Shola Shoretire had opened the scoring with a fantastic header.
The result means United move onto 11 points from seven games and now sit sixth in the division. It has been a tough start to the season for Neil Wood’s side, mainly due to having such a young side. They are an entertaining team now, having scored five last week against Brighton and four against Tottenham.
Facundo Pellistri with brilliant first half assist
Shola Shoretire gave United the lead with a thumping header that left Tottenham goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman with no chance. His run was timed well and the header was emphatic but it was thanks to an inch-perfect cross from Facundo Pellistri that Shoretire could finish with such efficiency. Pellistri beat his man on the right wing and powerfully lofted the ball across the box for Shoretire to head in as he ran towards the near post.
Tottenham responded with a move of equal quality and similar foundations. It was Kion Etete who finished off Marcel Lavinier’s cross that came from the right-wing.

United moved back in front soon after. Shoretire drifted in from the left, showing good close control and pushing it across the penalty area to Puigmal. The Catalan faced up his marker, used the Spurs defender’s body to block Whiteman’s vision and tucked it home into the bottom left corner.
It was he who made it a two-goal lead in injury time of the first half too. This time a Lukasz Bejger through ball fed him into endless space which he charged through and finished past Whiteman once again. Bejger had a good game.
It was a fantastic display of quality from both sides throughout. Spurs got themselves back in touching distance in the 52nd minute. United had a free-kick close to their own box which Fernandez played to Mejbri. The Frenchman was outmuscled as he faced his own goal and Spurs took full advantage with George Marsh feeding Rayan Clarke whose pullback from the left was finished by Harvey White.
Electric Elanga grabs one at the end
It made for a frenetic second half of end-to-end football. Anthony Elanga provided some electricity right at the end.
He had come close on a couple of occasions but soared past Lavenier, curled inwards from the left and sidefooted it past Whiteman to make it 4-2.
