Andreas Pereira is nearing a permanent exit from Manchester United.

He is currently out on loan with Flamengo and Fabrizio Romano says United have reached an agreement to sell him to the Brazilian club.

Pereira made his senior debut in August 2014 but failed to truly establish himself in the United midfield and is currently on his fourth loan spell away from Old Trafford.

He did not score often, but when he did, they were sometimes spectacular. With his United career coming to an end, here is a look at three of his best strikes in a red shirt…

Ipswich Town (H), September 2015

Pereira got a chance to start in the Third Round of the EFL Cup in 2015, when Louis van Gaal’s United hosted Ipswich Town.

It was his first ever competitive start for United and he took the opportunity to impress with a sumptuous free kick to make it 2-0 on the hour mark.

Juan Mata ran over the dead ball just outside the penalty box and Pereira curled it up and over the wall to give Michael Crowe no chance.

Southampton (H), March 2019

United host Southampton in their next match and in the corresponding fixture in the 2018/19 season, Pereira helped engineer a dramatic win.

He curled home a sensational strike from outside the area to pull United level at 1-1 en route to an eventual 3-2 victory.

Pereira was capable of strikes to wow Old Trafford at times, but he did not show that ability anywhere near often enough.

Brentford (H), August 2021

Pereira was still a United player during pre-season, playing throughout the summer before sealing his loan move to Brazil.

He earned the nickname ‘pre-season Pirlo’ in his years at United for his outstanding friendly displays, which he was then unable to replicate in competitive matches.

This was a perfect example of why. Pereira’s volley crashed in off the underside of the bar and he raced off to celebrate wildly in the pouring rain.

If this is his last goal in a United shirt, it was a fitting note to end on. Spectacular, but a show of skill seen all too seldom, in a match which ultimately did not matter at all.
