Three bold predictions for Manchester United in 2025, including silverware for Ruben Amorim

2024 has seen it all for Manchester United from the Ineos sporting revolution to Erik ten Hag’s sacking and the arrival of Ruben Amorim. So thinking ahead to 2025 we have made three bold predictions for the year ahead.

The past year has seen a lot happen for Manchester United.

However, after some of the bad moments fans have endured the year ends with optimism and hope with the stewardship of Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese head coach has made an immediate improvement on the field – even if results are not quite perfect yet.

Amorim has given fans moments like United’s 2-1 win at the Etihad earlier this month and the consensus is that things are heading in the right direction.

So as the final hours of the year tick down, here are three bold predictions for United in 2025.

Amir Ibragimov and Chido Obi make senior debut

Ineos has made it clear that developing players will be a big part of the new Manchester United they are attempting to create, with the signings of Chido Obi and now the pending arrival of Diego Leon showcasing this perfectly.

So with this in mind, one prediction we have for 2025 is that both Amir Ibragimov and Obi will make their senior debuts for United.

The academy duo who are 16 and 17 respectively have been on fire for the U18 side and even combined for a goal for the U21s against Rochdale. They are the two in-form players right now for the academy and if they continue this hot streak there is no way that Amorim can ignore them.

Amorim has an excellent track record of promoting youth players so hopefully, at United, this will be no different.

Manchester United win the Europa League

As Manchester United fans, we are accustomed to winning silverware and this season should be no different despite the slow start.

United were off to a disastrous start in the Europa League this season, failing to win any of the first three games. But since Erik ten Hag was sacked, United have won all three. This makes progression likely.

When looking at the possible Europa League opposition list, if Amorim can get things ticking then United will be the favourites to go on and lift the trophy – with Tottenham the only team on paper who would rival the Red Devils for strength.

Ruben Amorim turns Amad Diallo into the Premier League’s best winger

This is less a bold prediction and more something that we think could be feasible considering the improvements we have seen from Amad Diallo in just a matter of games under Amorim.

Amad has been pulling up trees ever since Ten Hag left and he looks destined to become a very special player for United.

Amad since Erik ten Hag was sacked

If Amad carries on at the staggering performance levels he has shown, then he will without a doubt be considered among the very best wingers universally in the league, maybe even Europe.
