Things are looking good for Manchester United right now, with back-to-back wins, and it will only get better for the Red Devils thanks to the strength Ruben Amorim now has at his disposal.

After the slow start to the season, Manchester United have now won consecutive games for the first time under Ruben Amorim.

It couldn’t have come at a more impressive time, with Amorim earning United’s first Anfield win since 2016. Along with this, the victory came with Amorim making key decisions, which have led to a renewed belief that a corner has finally been turned.

Amorim has made excellent tweaks to his team, which we are seeing come together in the improved results, but he has also benefited from the personnel at his disposal.

After the attacking overhaul, Amorim now has something that helped Sir Alex Ferguson throughout his United career.

Ruben Amorim’s finally got something Manchester United has been lacking for years

Over the successful years at Manchester United, Sir Alex always had an attack that had several combinations and options, and after years of relying on one or two players to carry the team, Amorim now boasts an attack with real depth.

This has coincided with the summer overhaul, and we are beginning to reap the rewards of this now.

These five players are used across the front three positions, with Amorim not settled on a trio, instead interchanging depending on the opponent.

This was clear against Liverpool, with Arne Slot complaining about United’s tactical tweaks, which saw Cunha starting ahead of Sesko up front.

Having the choice to pick between these different players keeps opponents guessing, but more importantly, it means there is no over-reliance placed on one or two players.

This, to a lesser extent, is what Sir Alex always strived to have with multiple examples of squads packed with attacking talent.

Ruben Amorim can use the Manchester United squad to his strength

United’s attack is beginning to click, with Cunha, Mbeumo, Mount, and Sesko all shining this season, with five Premier League goals between them.

The performances against Liverpool in particular saw Mbeumo, Cunha, and Sesko arrive as United players, passing the biggest test in the league at Anfield.

Mbeumo has scored three goals this season, while Sesko has scored two despite ‘worst signing’ claims. Meanwhile, Mount has been like a new signing with his form under Amorim, worth the £55m he cost in 2023.

Cunha will soon be unplayable, but is yet to score, although he’s come close more than once, and we expect it imminently.

Amorim just needs to unleash Zirkzee, and then he’ll have five excellent options to play in three positions.

Options are Amorim’s strength, and he’s using them as such.
