Paul Scholes is exact opposite to Roy Keane over exciting ex-Man Utd ace who left under Ruben Amorim, stage is now set

Roy Keane and Paul Scholes are not on the same wavelength when it comes to what one former Manchester United player can now do away from Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim oversaw a major clearout of the Manchester United first-team squad this summer, including the high-profile departure of several players from the club.

Marcus Rashford made his exit from Old Trafford after he inked a season-long loan deal with Barcelona, while Jadon Sancho was shipped out on loan to Aston Villa.

Rasmus Hojlund has left the Premier League club after signing on loan with Napoli, with a £38m permanent transfer on the cards if certain requirements are met.

Antony ended his exile at United and completed a permanent move to Real Betis, while Alejandro Garnacho ended his time at the Red Devils by signing for Chelsea.

Roy Keane and Paul Scholes cannot agree on how Alejandro Garnacho will do at Chelsea after the ex-Man Utd winger’s exit

Chelsea completed their acquisition of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United in August ahead of the summer transfer window closing on 1st September.

Alejandro Garnacho had been heavily linked with Chelsea over the course of the summer after his fractured relationship with United manager Ruben Amorim.

Speaking on The Overlap, Paul Scholes had not written off Garnacho and the former United midfielder admitted that he could see the player doing well at Chelsea.

“Chelsea are almost the best of the rest under the top two or three [teams] and they needed investment in the right areas,” he said.

“I think he [Garnacho] will be good for you [speaking to the Chelsea fan].”

United legend Scholes remained firm on his stance over Garnacho after one audience member shouted an X-rated message about the Chelsea summer signing.

“There’s a lot of k—- now – it doesn’t mean they’re not going to be good at football,” he said in response.

“I don’t think he will be disruptive [in the Chelsea squad]. I hope he is! But I don’t think he will.”

Roy Keane dropped his two cents on Garnacho as well and Scholes’ former United teammate is both “undecided” and “not convinced” on the transfer to Chelsea.

Ex-Man Utd star Alejandro Garnacho is about to prove either Roy Keane or Paul Scholes right with what he does next at Chelsea

Garnacho was tipped as a long-term prospect at United and all the initial signs had pointed to him being a positive presence at Old Trafford before Amorim’s arrival.

Fast-forward from Amorim becoming United manager in 2024 to the end of the summer transfer window in 2025 and Garnacho is no longer a Red Devils player.

There are not many who could have even predicted such an outcome around Garnacho, who had broken into the first team after his rise from the youth academy.

Garnacho has inked a deal with Chelsea until 2032 and the Blues’ £40m transfer price could be an absolute steal if the former United talent shines at the club.

However, it’s that ‘if’ that will determine the next step of the 21-year-old Spain-born winger’s chapter at Chelsea and who was ultimately right out of Keane and Scholes.
