Man United must avoid one critical Facundo Pellistri error this January transfer window

Manchester United must avoid this one critical error as they look to have a clearout in the January transfer window.

During this winter transfer window, money is extremely tight for Manchester United with Erik ten Hag being limited to loan options this January, similar to how last season fared.

That winter window, Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst were brought into the fold on loan but both players failed to live up to the billing with the Austrian midfielder moving to Borussia Dortmund and the Dutch striker moving to Hoffenheim.

Repeating this trick seems like a risk but the cash is just not there for big-money purchases to be made.

United selling to buy

Jadon Sancho is closing in on a loan move to Borussia Dortmund this January window for a rather small loan fee as the Red Devils aim to get the Englishman out the door at Old Trafford.

Another surprise name who could be out the door is Facundo Pellistri, who has been in and out of the first team at Old Trafford.

Amad Diallo made his comeback from the bench during the defeat to Nottingham Forest over the weekend and looked promising but allowing the Uruguayan winger to leave the club, even if Amad continues to impress, seems a risk.

If Amad continues to struggle with his injury problems and Pellistri is loaned out, United would have just one right-winger in the team in Antony, who himself has struggled massively this season.

Alejandro Garnacho has deputised from the right and to good effect against Aston Villa at Old Trafford but it doesn’t look like Ten Hag trusts the Argentine in that position just yet.

Loaning Pellistri a risk

Considering the number of injury problems that the Red Devils have had this season, loaning Pellistri, who has looked promising when he has featured, seems like a risk.

Relying on Amad, just recently back from a four-month injury lay-off and Antony, who has 0 goals or assists this season, seems a rather illogical move from those at Old Trafford.

According to an exclusive from HITC Football, United are prepared to allow Pellistri to leave and the club are even considering loaning Amad, too.

Having just one fit right-winger would be a disaster. United must avoid this at all costs.
