Manchester United were poor against Nottingham Forest but there was one player who shone brightly in defeat.

Erik ten Hag looked at his witts end as his Manchester United side succumbed to yet another defeat as the Aston Villa win proved to be a false horizon.

United were beaten 2-1 by Nuno Espirito Santo’s Forest side who are on quite a decent run themselves.

In the game there were multiple poor performances however it’s Antony who disappointed most as he continued to struggle and ensured he’d end the year with just one Premier League goal.

This horrible display was ended as he was withdrawn through injury in the second half, allowing Amad Diallo to make his comeback appearance.

This led to a display which fans have been raving about in the aftermath.

Fans praise Amad Diallo

Amad made a 35-minute cameo and instantly impressed fans which makes Antony’s prospects going forward look bleak.

One fan wrote on X, saying: “Amad Diallo is the only positive I’m picking today. Came in and immediately became a threat off the right.”

A second then added: “Amad showed in his small cameo against Forest that he is better than Antony and should be starting on the right over him.”

This was an opinion agreed with by another fan: “I’m convinced Amad is better than Antony after 30 minutes of football.”

While a third stated that Amad looked very dangerous: “Amad looked more dangerous in 30 minutes than Antony this season.”

A final fan emphasised that the display has proven Amad “I’ve seen enough from this Amad cameo to know that we have a special talent on our hands.”

Amad Diallo could displace Antony

While United have struggled to see a player nail down the right-wing slot, the options are now bolstered over the course of the last week.

Alejandro Garnacho was immense there against Aston Villa while Amad just put in quite the cameo against Forest albeit got no reward.

With the two aforementioned players thriving, £85m man Antony could struggle to find himself getting substantial minutes.
