Michael Carrick watched his Manchester United side put in a stunning display to demolish Brighton on Sunday.
It was arguably the most dominant display Manchester United have had since January’s 2-0 thrashing of Manchester City.
United’s 3-0 win against Brighton ensured that the Red Devils scored a points tally which was fourth highest in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
Bruno Fernandes stole the show with his brilliance, scoring and getting a 21st assist of the Premier League season, which is a new all-time league record.

Patrick Dorgu’s incredible record under Michael Carrick continues
It was a ruthless performance from Manchester United, as Carrick’s side strolled to the win without even having to leave second gear.
Interestingly, the dominant performance coincided with Dorgu starting for the first time since January.
Dorgu had a massive impact for United, stepping up with a goal and an assist in the game, thus continuing his prolific record under Carrick as a winger.
Since Carrick took charge, Dorgu has started three games under him, and in this time he has scored three goals and assisted once. Which is an incredible record, which stretched over a full season, would break a lot of records
But his record extends beyond even Carrick’s reign, with three assists and four goals in his last 11 appearances in a more advanced role, which is just eight starts.
Dorgu becoming this prolific was not on anyone’s 2025/26 checklist, but it is very exciting, as Dorgu’s high ceiling is beginning to be shown in glimpses.
Hopefully, he can have this impact over the entirety of next season, and we might have a world-class prospect on the cards.

Dorgu negates Manchester United’s need to sign a left winger this summer
Dorgu’s return is a timely reminder that signing a left winger isn’t really a priority this summer, considering the Dane’s impressive record, and also Matheus Cunha pretty much being undroppable after the campaign he’s had.
Both have proven themselves this season, and while they aren’t the flashiest left-wing options around, it isn’t a position that requires a massive signing.
Funds can be directed instead to left-back and specifically Lewis Hall.
United are big fans of Hall and he would have a transformational impact for the team on the left, offering so much more going forward and overlapping Cunha would be a brilliant combination.
United have bigger issues than left-wing; Dorgu and Cunha are beyond good enough in the position.
