Bruno Fernandes gave Roy Keane what he wanted as pundit makes ‘best in the world’ claim

The most unexpected soap opera of Man Utd’s season has taken a completely different turn with Roy Keane and Bruno Fernandes.

Despite putting up a history-making season for Man Utd, Bruno Fernandes became a lightning rod for criticism by Roy Keane.

Most embarrassingly, it came as a result of Keane using fake quotes, which Fernandes called out, leading to Keane hitting back unnecessarily.

Ultimately, a phone call happened between the pair, and it looks like Keane got exactly what he wanted.

Roy Keane makes ‘best in the world’ Bruno Fernandes claim

Keane’s tone has completely switched since that call with Fernandes, with the ex-Man Utd captain paying the current captain the ultimate compliment.

In a recent episode of The Overlap, Keane raved about Fernandes’ passing, saying he’s the “best in the world” at that trait.

Keane said: “Without a shadow of a doubt [Fernandes is the best passer in the world]. 99 times out of 100, he will pick the right pass with the right weight.

“Bruno, in that position, is unbelievable. There are loads of pluses to his passes. If you’re running, he will pick you out.”

This is the same Keane who was falsely calling out Fernandes for chasing assists at the cost of victories.

Keane said recently that he had a nice call with Fernandes and everything is now sorted, which is ironic, considering the mess was never made by Fernandes in the first place.

He simply didn’t have to lie about anything, and Fernandes would have been fine with the criticism, so a personal phone call is probably what he wanted.

Now that he has it, Keane can actually say what he really feels about Fernandes instead of taking unjustified potshots for attention.

Don’t be surprised if Keane becomes Fernandes’ biggest defender in the media next season. After all, he got what he wanted from the whole thing.
