Roy Keane’s constant negativity has continued around Bruno Fernandes, with the spat around Manchester United now reaching social media.
While frustrating, Roy Keane has always tried to put a target on Bruno Fernandes‘ back, taking aim at his character often, but Manchester United fans now see through his comments.
Keane slammed Fernandes for celebrating his assist against Nottingham Forest, with all the support being pushed toward the current United captain.
Following this, Michael Carrick made it clear he didn’t agree, with the whole thing quite embarrassing for Keane. But Fernandes is rightly annoyed.

Fernandes has won every individual award possible so far, is he a club legend? If not, what does he need to do to earn this tag? 🏆

Roy Keane continues to make poor decisions in Bruno Fernandes spat
For the first time, Fernandes has now spoken back against Keane, doing so in a professional manner as he voiced his frustration over the comments that the Irishman made last week.
Speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast, Fernandes hit back at Keane’s comments.
“Like I’ve always said, I don’t mind criticism. I’ve always taken criticism from everyone and anyone and I never reply to anything or whatsoever.
“People have an opinion; they think it’s good, bad, whatever. What I don’t like is when people lie about things and [in] this case that you said about Roy Keane basically what he said is a lie because… either he saw some other interview or he can’t say that I said one thing that I’ve just not said and luckily for me is everything on record.
“I accept his criticism, I accept that he might like me as a player or not, like me as a person or not. But what I don’t like is that he puts words in my mouth that have not been said. That’s the only thing I don’t like.”
Instead of trying to take the high road, or even acting like a grown-up, Keane rushed to Instagram to share a cryptic dig toward Fernandes.
Keane posted a graphic that read, “Too much attention makes a donkey think he’s a lion”, illustrated by a donkey being watched by lions.
Keane sending messages on social media is the last thing we would expect, but given the slope he’s currently sliding down, it isn’t a shock.
Ironically, Keane left United 20 years ago, and therefore, there shouldn’t be any attention on him. But he keeps getting himself in the headlines with these outlandish comments. Who is really the donkey in his analogy.
Fernandes acted with complete class, while Keane sank to his usual low.
What do you think of Roy Keane blasting Bruno Fernandes’ record breaking assist chase?
Keane’s embarrassing Fernandes agenda looks foolish
While Keane will always be a legend, he is quickly becoming someone fans don’t want to hear the opinions of given how out of touch and negative he is about the club’s best player of the 2020s.
Sadly, it has fallen to other clubs’ legends to give Fernandes the praise he deserves.
Fernandes broke Thierry Henry’s record on Sunday, but the Frenchman had a message for the Portuguese midfielder, which Steven Bartlett showed him on the podcast.
“Please send my regards to him! I love him! Braino Fernandes!”, Henry messaged.
Paul Pogba also hailed Fernandes, writing, “CRACK [craque meaning a huge compliment], Told you!!” on his Instagram story in a message to Fernandes.
