Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore has been on loan with Rotherham this season, and it has been the best loan of his career so far.
Dan Gore debuted for Manchester United back in 2023 and, since then, has been on three different loans.
First, Gore had a disaster at Port Vale in which he was injured and then failed to play after this, resulting in just one appearance for the club.
Then, after spending the better part of 2024 building himself up from injury, Gore went to Rotherham last season in January, but was similarly injured. He clearly impressed them, though, as Rotherham took Gore back in the summer of 2025, and he’s now enjoyed a strong year.

With the World Cup this summer, pre-season will have plenty of academy involvement🔮
Manchester United have already extended Dan Gore’s contract
Gore has been impressive this year in League One, playing 33 games for Rotherham and gaining the development he has missed over the past few seasons.
However, with his contract set to expire in 2026, there were doubts around his future.
But according to The Sun, United actually tied Gore down to a new deal before he went on loan.
The report claims Gore’s contract actually runs until 2028, with the extension indicating some form of belief within the club that he can still make it.
Despite this, it still isn’t clear what United’s plan is with the 21-year-old.

Dan Gore could be a wildcard for United
At 21, the jump from League One to the Premier League would be massive for Gore, but it is important to remember he is playing catch-up.
Gore has shown plenty of promise this season, and if his injuries are truly behind him, United could have a serious player on their hands.
He was once considered close to Kobbie Mainoo in quality and this summer will be vital for his career.
United will likely look to find him a loan in the Championship in a step that could take him to the next level.
However, last summer, Gore was up for sale according to reports, and there will likely be more interest this summer.
But a third possibility is that during pre-season, Gore is given a chance and takes it, positioning himself as the academy midfield promotion.
Gore and Jacob Devaney are the two most experienced right now, and they might be fighting for one position this summer.
