‘There are bad things to see’… Manchester United starlet Amad Diallo explains why he’s deleted his social media

Manchester United starlet Amad Diallo has explained why he’s moved to delete his social media channels.

Fans noticed on Monday night that Amad Diallo had deleted all mention of Manchester United from his X and Instagram accounts.

The winger even changed his bio on his Twitter/X account to ‘tout cela finira…’, which translates in English to: ‘this will all end’.

Now his accounts have been deleted.

Supporters immediately speculated the social media activity was because Amad has grown frustrated with his lack of opportunities in Erik ten Hag’s side this season.

However, the 21-year-old has now explained the real reason.

Amad explains why he has deleted social media

As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Amad said: “I’ve deactivated my social media for a month just to focus on Ramadan.

“Stop the hatred, there’s nothing wrong with what I did.

“It’s holy month for me and social media is a place where there are bad things to see during fasting.”

What’s next for Amad?

It’s good to hear Amad hasn’t become the latest United winger to make a scene on social media after Jadon Sancho’s antics last year.

Yet, the Ivorian must have some frustrations over his lack of opportunities.

Amad was spectacular in the Championship on loan at Sunderland last season and looked set to step things up a level this term.

Injuries have once again halted his progress but he’s been fit again since December and has only been given 63 minutes.

It’s made even stranger given United’s injury crisis in attacking areas and lack of quality options in attack.

Antony has been dreadful for months yet is still getting more minutes than the untested Amad.

If he doesn’t get a chance soon, he may well look to progress his career away from Old Trafford.
