Ruben Amorim had a tough decision to make after Patrick Dorgu was sent off for Manchester United against Ipswich Town.
Just as Manchester United had completed a comeback and were taking control of the Premier League clash, Patrick Dorgu was sent off for a reckless challenge on Omari Hutchinson.
In order to fill the gap in the back line, Ruben Amorim chose to take off Alejandro Garnacho for Noussair Mazraoui.
Just two minutes later, Ipswich drew level through Jaden Philogene. Thankfully, Matthijs de Ligt scored his first Old Trafford goal to fire United back in front and secure all three points.
But Amorim’s substitution clearly frustrated Garnacho, who was spotted walking straight down the tunnel after coming off.

Ruben Amorim plans Alejandro Garnacho talks
Amid United’s striker crisis, Garnacho has not played as much football as he would have liked in recent weeks. He came off the bench against Everton last week and only lasted 45 minutes against Ipswich.
Rio Ferdinand says Garnacho “has to play” as one of United’s more creative players, but Amorim has not been afraid to line up without the Argentine.
Following the 3-2 win, Amorim admitted that he will hold talks with Garnacho about his decision to walk straight down the tunnel.
“I am going to talk with Garnacho about that,” Amorim said. “I will talk about that in the next press conference.”
Alejandro Garnacho not the first Man United star to stomp off
Things have not been going United’s way for some time now, and Garnacho is certainly not the first star to strop down the tunnel.
In 2022, Erik ten Hag had to deal with Cristiano Ronaldo walking down the tunnel after being an unused substitute against Tottenham.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Marcus Rashford was also accused of stomping down the tunnel following a 2-0 defeat to West Ham in 2023.
Earlier this season, Joshua Zirkzee ran to the dressing room after being hooked off in the first half by Amorim following a dismal start against Newcastle United. He did, however, later return to the bench.
Amorim clearly wants to hear from Garnacho before making a judgement, but the United boss has already proven he will not put up with negative attitudes.
