Manchester United players’ initial impressions of the appointment of Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy has been explained.
As part of Erik ten Hag signing a new deal at Manchester United, the Dutchman was tasked with bringing in different members to his backroom staff with Mitchell Van Der Gaag leaving United.
Ten Hag and Manchester United decided to appoint Ruud van Nistelrooy to be his new assistant.
Along with the appointment of the former United icon, the Red Devils have also appointed former Go Ahead Eagles manager Rene Hake to a role within the first team coaching setup.
However, it is the appointment of van Nistelrooy that has impressed players at Old Trafford.

United players impressed by Ruud van Nistelrooy’s aura
United have made two key signings under Ten Hag and are seemingly closing in on a third. United have agreed terms with Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui.
This comes after United confirmed the signing of Leny Yoro earlier this month and also have signed Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee to provide competition for Rasmus Hojlund.
However, perhaps even more important this summer, due to the poor season United had last year, is an improvement to the coaching staff.
Van Nistelrooy will be tasked with improving the attacking patterns seen at Old Trafford with the Red Devils scoring just 57 goals in the Premier League.
According to a report from Sky Sports News, the players are said to be impressed with the Dutchman with several players flagging his ‘aura’ and ‘fresh perspective’ during interviews he has done with the media.
Players also like van Nistelrooy’s ‘intense’ attacking drills
As well as liking the Dutchman’s aura, the report states that Van Nistelrooy’s intense attacking drills have gone down well with the team.
Van Nistelrooy is set to be working on reactive scenarios and training on how to pass through tight and compact blocks.
As for Hake, who has seemingly replaced Van Der Gaag, United’s players reportedly believe he is easier to work with than Van der Gaag, who left the club this summer.
The Red Devils take on Real Betis in their next pre-season game after United suffered a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in Los Angeles.
United will be hoping to show off more of these attacking patterns against the Spanish side on Thursday.
