Manchester United are finally beginning to see the version of Mason Mount that Erik ten Hag pushed so hard to sign.

Now in his third season in a five-year contract, finally, Mason Mount is beginning to do the number seven shirt justice.

Ruben Amorim is a massive Mount supporter, and as a result, we have seen a resurgence from the Manchester United midfielder.

With four goals and an assist in his last 13 games – eight starts – Mount is becoming a key player for Amorim and is currently ahead of Matheus Cunha in the pecking order.

What Manchester United players are saying about Mason Mount

Amorim has always believed that Mount would return to the heights he reached at Chelsea, and now the 26-year-old has also been impressing his teammates.

Journalist Ben Jacobs spoke to The United Stand, explaining what he has heard about Mount catching the eye.

“Ruben Amorim really likes Mason Mount if he now gets a run in the side and starts to get a regular streak of goal contributions. And I know from training a lot of the players have been watching Mason Mount and have been really impressed.”

Mount has done so well to come from being a player many forgot even existed to now being a starter and key player.

Rio Ferdinand has tipped Mount to cause Liverpool problems, and if he has another impressive display, it could confirm his return as a star for the club.

Senne Lammens is also impressing in training

Mount hasn’t been the only player to impress in United training, with Senne Lammens also named by Jacobs as one player who has been starring.

“I think many at the football club, as they’ve seen in training week in week out over the last few weeks, are just really impressed by the maturity and the confidence and the authority of Senne Lammens.

“And it’s no disrespect or criticism to Altay Bayindir, but Lammens has come in, and he kept a clean sheet on his debut. He made a couple of important saves, and he’s just got a little bit of an air of authority about him.”

Lammens was so solid against Sunderland, as his safe hands and dominant ball claiming left fans impressed. Clearly, he is now the long-term answer to the number one problem, with Altay Bayindir simply not considered good enough
