Manchester United will know that Radek Vitek can’t be dismissed anymore, after the incredible performance he put in at Bristol City over the course of this season on loan.
Vitek was named Bristol City’s player of the season for his efforts, which proved that he was one of the very best goalkeepers in the Championship over the 2025/26 campaign.
Last summer, Vitek was loaned before he even had a chance, but this summer is different.

Vitek’s been unstoppable for Bristol City, but this isn’t any shock, as he was also superb on loan the previous year in Austria.
Vitek has been a huge goalkeeping talent coming through for years, but finally this summer, he might get a chance at United.
Now, according to the Manchester Evening News, Vitek has several options this summer.
First, it is considered that Vitek replaces Altay Bayindir as the Senne Lammens back-up. To convince the Czech goalkeeper, United are apparently going to promise him cup games to sweeten the deal.
This sounds like a wise move, potentially with Vitek playing some of the easier Champions League games as well.
But it might be tough to convince him to settle for being the second choice when there is significant interest in him this summer, both for loan and permanent deals.
United will look to decide over the summer, but it is a massive call for United, as Vitek is a huge talent, and they can’t lose him.
Testament to his ability, Vitek has been praised by Petr Cech, showcasing how talented he is and why United can’t disregard him.

While these options are already tough enough for United, there is a third option, which involves Vitek’s opportunity to play during pre-season.
Vitek has been back at Carrington for weeks, where he has been training with Tom Heaton, as what could be United’s second and third goalkeepers next season.
But with Senne Lammens in the Belgium squad for the World Cup, depending on how far they go, Vitek could begin pre-season in goal and might make himself pretty undeniable in this time.
Vitek can force Carrick into a decision over Lammens and Vitek with his performances, or at least make it a real competition over who should start.
It isn’t a foregone conclusion that Lammens is number one.
This will be a huge summer for Vitek.
