Ruben Amorim has now revealed what he noticed from injured Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Brighton.
Lisandro Martinez has been out of action for Manchester United since February after the Red Devils defender suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his knee.
The 27-year-old Argentine centre-back was stretchered off late in the second half of United’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
Martinez missed the remainder of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign and he has been undergoing rehabilitation after the damage to his cruciate ligament.
The 2022 World Cup winner is expected to feature for United in the 2025-26 season, but it remains unclear about the exact date of his return to first-team action.

What Ruben Amorim spotted from the injured Lisandro Martinez in Man Utd training
Lisandro Martinez has since returned to training after his injury setback, but the Red Devils ace has been put on his own training plan at the Premier League club.
Ruben Amorim appeared at the Carrington training complex on Friday afternoon for his pre-match press conference for the Brighton match at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Speaking on Martinez, United manager Amorim admitted that he felt the Argentina international “trained really well” when he looked over at him on the other pitch.
“I don’t know when he will be fit,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“He trained really well, not with us but on the next pitch and I was watching the training.
“He is feeling well and responding well so I don’t want to say a specific day or one week, but he is near to start training with the team and then it depends on the rhythm of Licha if he wins the place or not.
“That will depend on him but he is closer to a return to training.”
Ruben Amorim’s feelings about Man Utd’s latest performance vs Liverpool going into the Brighton match
United defeated Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield in the aftermath of the October break, with the Red Devils notching up back-to-back Premier League wins under Amorim.
Speaking on his United side’s display against Liverpool, Amorim insisted that the Red Devils were in high spirits thanks to their three points at Anfield last Sunday.
“We use the good spirit of winning games we know that was a good weekend for us, but our focus is on the next game,” he said.
“That is in the past and we need to understand that football changes a lot, especially this kind of club, so we are not thinking about the last game, we are thinking about this game and it is going to be really hard to win.”
Ninth-place United have won four of their opening eight Premier League matches in the 2025-26 season under Amorim and are one point clear of 10th-place Brighton.
