Former Manchester United duo Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay have lifted the Italian Super Cup with Napoli.
Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay, now both at Napoli, played the full 90 minutes of a 2-0 win over Bologna to lift their first trophy of the season.
Antonio Conte praised Hojlund and McTominay after the game and questioned why they were not playing at Manchester United.

Earlier this week, McTominay spoke about leaving United and disagreed that players tend to go on and thrive, but he has certainly not slowed down at all since departing Old Trafford.
Hojlund is the latest evidence of a player leaving and impressing, and Italian media were certainly pleased with his performance in the final.

Hojlund celebrated winning the Italian Super Cup on social media with a message that will sting United fans – “What a great decision looks like”.
The Dane had fallen out of favour at United, but he has hit the ground running in Italy.
Italian outlet Corriere Della Sera gave Hojlund a 7.5 rating for his performance. Match winner David Neres was the only player to be rated higher.

They wrote: “After single-handedly defeating Milan with a goal and a half, the Viking came close two or three times. He lacked the winner, more out of frenzy than anything else, but otherwise he did everything brilliantly.
“He laid off, counterattacked, and ran up the pitch. A true number nine. A key player. Lucky for those who have him. “

Hojlund was described as a “true number nine” by Italian media, and that will be a frustrating thing for United supporters to hear.
During his time in Manchester, Hojlund struggled to impact matches and was heavily criticised for wasting chances and failing to hold up the ball.
Now at Napoli, he is much more involved in play and is creating chances for himself.

As per SofaScore, Hojlund had 38 touches of the ball and attempted three shots against Bologna in the final. He also completed 100% of his dribbles and boasted an 80% passing accuracy.
United are confident that Benjamin Sesko is an upgrade on Hojlund, but performances like this one certainly pose some concerning questions.
