It has now been just over a month since Jadon Sancho departed Manchester United for Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Sancho departed the Red Devils on loan to Chelsea, with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. The £73m winger has since played four games for his new side and has settled in nicely.
Sancho had a good Chelsea debut – assisting Christopher Nkunku to bag the winner, which led to him starting the next two games. Enzo Maresca’s side were seemingly very happy with Sancho.
However, a player like the former Borussia Dortmund man is also bound to face scrutiny. His recent performance had Sancho blasted as mediocre by some pundits.
But what do Chelsea fans think of their new acquisition after four games donning the blue shirt at Stamford Bridge?

What Chelsea fans already think of Jadon Sancho
United in Focus approached The Chelsea Chronicle authors to comment on their initial thoughts on the Sancho. These were the responses.
James Shearman
“Jadon Sancho has not set the world on fire but he is definitely an upgrade on Mykhailo Mudryk.
“While he is fortunate to have three assists, thanks to some fantastic finishing, he has already been a difference-maker multiple times and that’s more than Chelsea fans were expecting.
“The Englishman looks happy at Stamford Bridge – happier than he ever did at Man Utd – and that should hopefully lead to more solid performances after the international break.”
Jack Drury
“Sancho has been an example of Chelsea actually doing their homework before signing a player. It seems they have noticed the kind of profile they were lacking in attack, and did a deal for a good price to fill that void.
“He has already struck up a great connection with Jackson and Palmer, and seems to have made the left wing his own already.”
Dominic Toner
“So far, Jadon Sancho looks like a really shrewd signing for Chelsea. It’s still the early stages of the season for the English winger, but it feels like we’re getting the Borussia Dortmund version rather than the one who unperformed in Manchester United colours.
“Sancho deserves huge credit for quickly establishing himself in Chelsea’s best XI, making that left-wing spot his own. On top of three assists in four appearances, his overall impact has been impressive, particularly his directness to regularly dribble at opposition full-backs.”
Were Manchester United really right to let Sancho leave permanently?
So Chelsea fans have had their say – but what is the United alternative? Quite frankly – it was never going to work out at Old Trafford for Sancho.
The winger had every chance to prove himself, under the reign of three different managers, and all results proved to be the same.
| Club | Games | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Red Cards | Minutes |
| Manchester United | 83 | 12 | 6 | – | – | 5.001′ |
He will never live up to the form of a teenage Sancho in the Bundesliga, and letting him go, even for a margin of what United paid for him – was definitely the way to go.
