Casemiro’s reaction during one key moment in Manchester United’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday spoke volumes.

The Red Devils played their first Premier League match without former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who was sacked from the Red Devils last week.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was assistant manager under Erik ten Hag, has taken charge of United as interim manager until the arrival of Ruben Amorim.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring for United in the second half and broke the deadlock for the Red Devils from the spot-kick.

However, Chelsea rallied back from their setback only minutes later after Moises Caicedo’s superb volley cancelled out Bruno Fernandes’ opener for United.

United are 13th in the Premier League table after their disappointing start to the season, with the Red Devils managing only three wins in 10 league matches.

Casemiro during Man Utd vs Chelsea

Manchester United are currently six points adrift from the Premier League top four and soon-to-be manager Ruben Amorim faces an uphill task at the club.

The Red Devils have agreed a deal to bring Amorim to Old Trafford from Sporting CP and the Portuguese manager will arrive at United on 11th November.

United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the Premier League club for the next two matches before the start of the November international break.

Casemiro played the full 90 minutes against Chelsea on Sunday and the United star’s reaction to Bruno Fernandes’ penalty at Old Trafford was captured.

The 32-year-old Brazilian midfielder was crouched on the halfway line and looked in the opposite direction of the penalty, with Andre Onana keeping him company.

Both Andre Onana and Casemiro fully embraced one another after United captain Fernandes successfully converted from the spot-kick.

Van Nistelrooy on Fernandes’ penalty vs Chelsea

Speaking after the 1-1 draw, Van Nistelrooy shared his feelings on the moment that Fernandes scored United’s penalty and the reception within Old Trafford at the time.

“It was a great moment when you hear Old Trafford explode,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“Bruno did well taking it and then the emotions come out. It’s special, I enjoyed every second of it and I will do so for the time being.

“I’m here to help, after that even more and I will get behind the new manager and make sure the club grows.

“Yeah, I was happy for the team and for the club and the fans. It’s similar [to being a player].”
