Wes Brown has now admitted that he inextricably links the colour of Manchester United’s brand-new kit to one legendary player from Old Trafford’s history.
Manchester United unveiled their new collaboration with Adidas last week and the German sports manufacturer has produced a blue T-shirt for the away design.
The Red Devils wore their brand-new kit for the first time during Manchester United’s 5-0 demolition win over Rosenborg at the Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim.

Wes Brown appeared on the latest episode of Manchester United’s Inside Carrington podcast alongside Inigo Turner, who is the design director at Adidas.
MUTV presenter Helen Evans mentioned different former Man Utd players who have become the embodiment of different Red Devils shirts that they had worn in their careers.
“Yeah, there’s so many players that are just… they ooze that aura in a shirt,” she said.
“You talked about Eric Cantona, David Beckham, of course, has to be one. Who else can you think of, Wes, in your era?”
Brown, who lifted a treble under Sir Alex Ferguson at Man Utd, admitted that the Red Devils and Adidas’ latest collaboration reminded him of Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Ronaldo, definitely,” he said.

Cristiano Ronaldo wore the blue shirt colour during the 2005-06 and 2008-09 Premier League seasons under former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
MUTV commentator Liam Bradford was also on the podcast episode and he mentioned that some Man Utd shirts have become defined by certain players.
“But there are certain kits, aren’t there, that you absolutely associate with certain players,” he said.
“Like if you pick one kit out, most fans will be able to go, that’s the player I remember wearing that.”
Following Man Utd’s encounter with Rosenborg last Friday, the Red Devils will now meet Atletico Madrid at the Strawberry Arena in Solna, Stockholm, on Saturday.
