Patrick Dorgu thinks Amad Diallo’s nutmeg ability pales in comparison to what Man Utd star does in ‘central area’

Patrick Dorgu has admitted that not even Amad Diallo can outshine what one of his Manchester United teammates can do when it comes to nutmegging players.

The 21-year-old Danish defender and winger has been playing a key role in the Red Devils pre-season tour under Michael Carrick this summer.

Patrick Dorgu has started both of Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Wrexham in Finland and 5-0 thrashing win over Rosenborg in Norway in recent weeks.

The Denmark international played 60 minutes on the left wing in Man Utd’s encounter against Wrexham, while he subsequently saw out 61 minutes against Rosenborg.

Patrick Dorgu talks up Joshua Zirkzee’s nutmegs amid his key comparison with Man Utd teammate Amad Diallo

Speaking to ESPN, Patrick Dorgu was asked which Manchester United player would be most likely to nutmeg someone else in a Red Devils training session.

“I have to think about that,” he said.

Dorgu scribbled down Joshua Zirkzee’s name before he revealed it to the camera, which surprised ESPN’s Ralph Karumazondo, who put Amad Diallo’s name down.

The Man Utd and Denmark full-back admitted that Amad would be likely to nutmeg a player if he tried, but Zirkzee was far more effective at doing it ‘centrally’ in training.

“Amad is… but Josh, like, [in a] central area, he likes a nutmeg,” Dorgu explained.

“Like, even his passes, he always tries like making a nutmeg, so…”

Joshua Zirkzee has his chance to shine on this summer’s pre-season tour with Man Utd

Joshua Zirkzee, much like Man Utd teammate Dorgu, has benefited by not playing at this summer’s World Cup by featuring heavily on the pre-season campaign so far.

United manager Michael Carrick has relied on Zirkzee as his main striker and the 25-year-old Dutch forward has played against both Wrexham and Rosenborg.

Zirkzee played 45 minutes against Wrexham before he was subbed off and later played 61 minutes in Man Utd’s win over Rosenborg before coming off.

However, the Netherlands international also had a major impact in United’s clash with Norwegian outfit Rosenborg after he netted in the second half of the tie.
