Wayne Rooney has now spotlighted something that Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has admitted amid his powerful argument around the Red Devils.
Bruno Fernandes has been enjoying a stunning run of form under Wayne Rooney’s former Manchester United and England teammate Michael Carrick in recent weeks.
Who was Manchester United’s Man of the Match vs West Ham?
Michael Carrick has been playing Fernandes as the No 10 in his tactical set-up after the Man Utd captain’s position change under Ruben Amorim earlier this season.
Fernandes’ influence was restricted in the two-man pivot – previously playing alongside Casemiro – in the polarising United tactical system that was used by Ruben Amorim.
However, the 31-year-old United midfielder has been able to operate more freely in the Red Devils attack by playing behind lone forward Bryan Mbeumo under Carrick.

Wayne Rooney makes his stance clear on Michael Carrick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amid his Bruno Fernandes point
Michael Carrick has won four of his opening five Premier League matches as Manchester United interim head coach since his appointment in January.
The 44-year-old suffered the first minor setback of his reign on Tuesday evening, with Man Utd securing a 1-1 draw against West Ham at the London Stadium.
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Wayne Rooney insisted that there is a major difference between Carrick and ex-Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
What did Michael Carrick get right with his game management vs West Ham?
“But, with Michael, he’s a different character to Ole, he’s calm, he’s a bit more calculated, I feel, and it feels right,” he told Sam Allardyce.
“I was at the Fulham game at Old Trafford, and when you see him down there, it feels right, seeing him there.
“He’s got a calmness, he knows how he wants to play, where I think Man United’s been a bit of a rollercoaster over the last 10 years or whatever.”

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is unbeaten vs Man Utd in four matches since we sold him
Was it the right or wrong choice to sell Wan-Bissaka?
Rooney believes that it could become “impossible” for United not to rule out Carrick as Ruben Amorim’s permanent successor if he can maintain consistency in his role.
“I think what he, in four games, I know it’s only four games, but he brought that calmness back and the players respect him, I think,” he added.
“As Bruno said, what he’s done for the football club, the players respect him, respect what he’s done for the club.
“And it looks like the players are enjoying playing football again, playing with a bit of freedom. So, hopefully, if that continues, then I think it would be impossible for them not to give him the job.”
United maintained their fourth-place position in the Premier League table under Carrick and the Red Devils are currently one point clear of fifth-place Chelsea.
