Manchester United youngster Victor Musa netted a hat-trick to help the under-18s to a 3-0 win over Blackburn.
Victor Musa’s best performance of the academy season so far ensured Manchester United’s under-18s have still won every single league game.
United have eight wins from eight league matches, sitting top of the table by three points with a game in hand over second placed Liverpool.
Musa scored a hat-trick in the away with at Blackburn, with the under-18s also recording a second successive clean sheet following a 6-0 win at Leeds.
How Victor Musa scored his hat-trick
Victor Musa had Manchester United a goal up as early as the second minute after he was fouled inside the penalty box.
Musa stepped up to score the penalty with a stuttered run-up to slot the ball in the bottom corner.
The second goal came in the final 20 minutes, after good interplay from Gabriele Biancheri and Jayce Fitzgerald, who unleashed Musa one-on-one with a defence splitting through ball.
Musa rounded the Blackburn goalkeeper but his first touch appeared to take him too wide, with two Rovers players rushing back to cover.
Incredibly, his low shot from a very tight angle, managed to evade them both and squeeze into the bottom corner to double United’s lead.
Musa completed his hat-trick in the 78th minute after Jayce Fitzgerald’s shot rebounded into his path and he hit it first time into the net.
Victor Musa now under-18s top scorer
Victor Musa is now the Manchester United under-18s top scorer for the season, he has five goals in eight games.
The goals have been well spread around the team amid the winning streak, with Gabriele Biancheri and Ethan Wheatley on four each, and Malachi Sharpe on three goals.
Musa, 17, scored six goals last season, and has now almost eclipsed that total as we approach mid-November. There are hopefully a lot more to come.
