Manchester United star Victor Lindelof has revealed that three former Red Devils footballers would feature in his ‘perfect player,’ despite leaving out one club legend.

Lindelof, who was brought to Old Trafford in 2017 by Jose Mourinho, has struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team starter at United under Erik ten Hag.

However, the 29-year-old Swedish defender seized the opportunity when he played against Luton Town at Old Trafford ahead of the November international break.

Lindelof started in the heart of defence after an injury to Jonny Evans and partnered alongside Harry Maguire, with the Sweden captain scoring the winner against Luton.

The United centre-back has been representing his country during the international break and featured in both of Sweden’s Euro 2024 qualifying matches.

Lindelof captained his side in the humiliating 3-0 defeat to Azerbaijan before Sweden bounced back with a 2-0 win over Estonia.

The Red Devils defender has taken part in United’s ‘My Perfect Player’ series, building the ultimate star based on attributes from other footballers.

Lindelof’s perfect player features three ex-United stars

Lindelof was spoiled for choice when constructing his perfect footballer, with the former Benfica man selecting three players from United’s past.

According to United’s official website, the Red Devils star picked former Shandong Taishan player Marouane Fellaini for his perfect player’s heading ability.

Lindelof opted for two attributes from former United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the ‘Iceman’ using his fellow countryman’s mentality and strength.

Another former United star popping up in Lindelof’s perfect player was none other than Robin van Persie, who was chosen for his clinical finishing ability.

However, Lindelof surprisingly left out former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Sweden captain even including Inter Miami star Lionel Messi ahead of him.

Lindelof will be hopeful of playing more regular football under Ten Hag this season after he snatched an important three Premier League points against Luton.

The Sweden international appears to be preferred by Ten Hag ahead of Raphael Varane, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Along with his ultimate overall player, Lindelof revealed what his perfect footballer would look like if he was restricted to using his current United teammates.

Despite climbing ahead of Varane in the United pecking order (for now at least), Lindelof did pick the ex-Real Madrid star for his mentality in his perfect player.
