The best Man Utd player of the last 25 years
We had more than 7,000 votes from readers in our efforts to build the best Manchester United team of the past 25 years.
Now we are looking to crown the best Manchester United player of the past quarter-century, and Wayne Rooney is currently leading the voting.
There is great competition, with Cristiano Ronaldo currently pushing him closest in the polling.
One comment read: “Ronaldo, probably talent wise, and for one/two season impact. Keane most influential but arguably had his best years before this.
“Rooney wins it for consistency, records, and everything that goes with him.”

Benjamin Sesko’s battle for goals
Manchester United fans are currently torn over Benjamin Sesko’s lack of impact in front of goal, with the striker failing to score since returning from injury.
His problems are following Rasmus Hojlund’s woes last season. The Dane is currently enjoying some success on loan at Napoli.
Is this a coincidence? One view is that the problems are created by a lack of service, really boiling the problems down to the coaching staff.
“I think Utd’s style of play right now is showing that it doesn’t matter who we have as a striker they ain’t going to score as they don’t get the supply from anyone.
“Even Haaland would struggle to score for us.”
Are you worried about Benjamin Sesko? Do you think he can turn this around quickly?
What is going wrong for Sesko in front of goal?
Ruben Amorim’s future
The biggest topic at Manchester United ever since Sir Alex Ferguson retired has been the debate over the manager’s future.
This has not changed under current head coach Ruben Amorim, despite the improvement United have made this season.
Opinions on Amorim can flip game-to-game, but by this point, some fans are entrenched in their desire for change.
One fan responded to our question about a dream transfer window by responding that they want to see Amorim leave, instead of being given more money to spend.
“My dream new year present would be Amorim sacked before he can do any more damage. Just as new transfer window due to open he starts changing formation.
“So the board gonna give him money now for players in new positions. The man is clearly clueless and out of his depth.”
This topic will run and run. If you want to mount a defence of the head coach, get involved and join the debate.

Who was to blame for United’s draw vs Wolves
Was it tactics, complacency, or a lack of cutting edge that saw Manchester United fail to win at home to relegation-bound Wolves?
The answer is a mix of all three, but there is also the element of basic poor defending that led to Wolves’ equaliser from a set piece.
One reader is pinning the blame on midfielder Manuel Ugarte for his poor defensive positioning.
“The headed goal scored by the Wolves player resulted due to Ugarte not covering the back post area.”
Is this fair? It feels like Ugarte really can’t catch a break right now.

Manchester United vs Leeds brings back memories
The very mention of Manchester United vs Leeds stirs emotions, with the two clubs set to do battle once again, this coming weekend.
There have been a handful of top players to feature for both clubs, and surely the very best of all is Eric Cantona.
We took a look back at Cantona’s transfer between the two clubs in 1992, and the stunning impact that followed.
One comment read: “The benchmark for all Manchester United transfers. A prime example. Cantona had it all.”
If you can think of a better value and impact transfer in recent history than Cantona, we would love to hear it.
It is the type of deal Ineos would love to be able to pull off in 2026 – but it is harder to strike a bargain in the modern game.
Has there ever been a better deal than Man Utd signing Eric Cantona from Leeds?
