Eric Cantona’s move to Manchester United will forever go down as one of the best Premier League transfers in history.
Renowned as The King, Eric Cantona is revered by a generation of Manchester United fans.
The Frenchman represented the beginning of an era of glory at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson as he proved to be a catalyst that helped younger players like David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and more to blossom at the biggest football club in the world.
Having played for both United and Leeds during his five-year spell in England, Cantona will be keeping a close eye on the Premier League clash between the two clubs on Sunday.
Has there ever been a better deal than Man Utd signing Eric Cantona from Leeds?
Former chairman Martin Edwards pulled off the heist of the century!
Leeds go into the game sitting in the bottom half of the table, but United’s unpredictability means they stand a good chance of causing an upset that would pile further pressure on Ruben Amorim.
Meanwhile, United are trying to push for the Champions League spot, despite drawing 1-1 with Wolves on Tuesday night.

How Eric Cantona felt leaving Leeds for Man Utd
United fans at Elland Road will be reminding the Leeds faithful of the transfer that saw Cantona move to the Theatre of Dreams in 1992.
The rivalry between United and Leeds has been present for decades, with the two clubs remaining separated by less than 50 miles.
Hatred among the fans intensified with the transfer of Cantona, as he had enjoyed success after arriving from Nimes. The centre-forward became angry about being dropped for a match before refusing to report for training. A transfer request followed, and Sir Alex Ferguson saw an opportunity.
United needed a striker after unsuccessful bids for David Hirst, Matt Le Tissier and Brian Deane. None of those players could lace Cantona’s boots, so the Red Devils ended up with the best solution.
It came as a massive blow for Leeds to lose Cantona, having won the first Premier League title in 1992, just months after his arrival.
Cantona previously explained his move from Leeds to United and how it made him feel as a footballer.
“When I signed we had just been champions with Leeds, but I hadn’t been in England very long, I hadn’t even been there a year,” Cantona told the official Manchester United website.
“I arrived at the start of the year [1992] and I signed for United in November. I knew that I had arrived at a great club and knew that a lot of great players had played for the club.
“I had everything to prove and sometimes for some players to play at a great club they can feel paralysed, you know, they don’t play at that level because they feel too much pressure.
“But when I arrived in Manchester everyone gave me the confidence I needed to express myself and I was very lucky to play alongside wonderful players and play for Alex Ferguson who gave me this confidence.
“It was all enjoyment for me, I didn’t feel any pressure. I just had the pressure that we all need to express yourself and to enjoy it, and I did that.”
