Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to rejoin Manchester United. The situation has accelerated and changed direction rapidly.
This time yesterday, Ronaldo seemed bound for Manchester City.
Now, they’re out of the race and United are edging closer to re-signing one of their best ever players.
The Manchester Evening News have reported that Sir Alex Ferguson has played a role in that.

They claim that Ferguson had a conversation with Ronaldo this morning (Friday), when he looked set to join City.
That has put the wheels in motion for a change of direction and now he’s on course to come back to Old Trafford.
United have now submitted a contract offer to the Portuguese superstar, who is leaving Juventus this summer.
And with City out of the race, that means that it’s all looking like he’ll be back at United.

Ferguson played a huge part in Ronaldo’s development from potential superstar to global phenomenon.
That relationship is clearly still very much intact and has seemingly played its part in a huge transfer move.
