Ryan Giggs revealed that it “happened on a few occasions” where one Manchester United legend was involved in a heated argument with Sir Alex Ferguson.

The 51-year-old Welshman enjoyed a legendary playing career at Old Trafford after rising through the youth academy ranks in the 1990s.

Ryan Giggs spent his entire playing career at Manchester United and the Welsh former winger broke into the first team under Sir Alex Ferguson.

One of the famed ‘Class of ‘92’ breakout stars, the former United star went on to become the Premier League club’s all-time leading appearance-maker.

Giggs, who played 963 times for the Red Devils, spent the large majority of his United career under Ferguson before the Scotsman retired in 2013.

During his prolific Old Trafford spell, the United legend lifted 13 Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, four FA Cups and four League Cups.

Giggs became a player-coach at United after Ferguson’s retirement and later served as interim manager in 2014 following David Moyes’ sacking from Old Trafford.

Giggs on Man Utd legend and Ferguson

Ryan Giggs took his steps into coaching as an understudy under Louis van Gaal and served as assistant manager at Manchester United for two seasons.

The United legend left Old Trafford after Louis van Gaal was sacked in 2016 and was replaced by Jose Mourinho, with Giggs becoming Wales manager in 2018.

Giggs, who has been out of management since he stepped down as Wales head coach in 2020, previously opened up about his time under Ferguson.

The former Wales boss revealed that fellow Class of ’92 star David Beckham was involved in heated arguments with Ferguson towards the end of his United spell.

David Beckham shot to superstardom during his time under Ferguson and the former England captain had admitted that the Scotsman was like a father figure.

However, the 49-year-old ex-United star’s relationship with the former Red Devils boss fractured during his time at Old Trafford and played a part in his club exit.

Beckham, who was a key part of the Red Devils’ famous treble-winning side, left United in 2003 and completed a blockbuster move to La Liga outfit Real Madrid.

Giggs reveals Beckham’s arguments with Ferguson

David Beckham, much like fellow United legend Giggs, enjoyed incredible silverware success at Old Trafford under former Aberdeen and Red Devils manager Ferguson.

The ex-Real Madrid and United superstar lifted six Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy and two FA Cups with the Red Devils.

“I think the majority of the time it was for football reasons [Ferguson’s arguments with players],” Giggs said on beIN Sports in 2020, as per the Manchester Evening News.

“It was to get someone in or the player maybe losing that influence. Or it was just the time.

“The likes of David Beckham it was getting too much, where he was arguing every other week really and it was just time for both parties to move and that happened on a few occasions.”
