Senne Lammens is ‘very different’ from three other Man Utd players under Michael Carrick, claims Omar Berrada

Omar Berrada has singled out Senne Lammens from four Manchester United first-team players under Michael Carrick after his debut season at Old Trafford.

Senne Lammens left his native homeland of Belgium last September and arrived in England as Manchester United’s 2025 deadline-day summer signing.

Man Utd paid an initial fee of £18.1m to secure the services of the talented 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper from Belgian Pro League outfit Royal Antwerp.

Lammens enjoyed a solid debut season at Old Trafford after the Belgium international established himself as Man Utd’s No 1 ahead of Andre Onana.

Omar Berrada’s verdict on Senne Lammens and Ineos’ three Man Utd signings from the 2025 summer window

Senne Lammens made 33 appearances across all competitions for Manchester United in the 2025-26 campaign and kept eight clean sheets for the Red Devils.

The former Royal Antwerp star was one of four key 2025 signings that Ineos had made for Ruben Amorim, who was sacked as United manager back in January.

Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko all arrived at Old Trafford last summer ahead of Man Utd’s acquisition of Lammens from Antwerp.

United chief executive officer Omar Berrada has explained why Lammens is a different signing from Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.

“The four senior signings that we made last year have worked out really well,” he said on Inside Carrington, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“They’ve all played an important part in the success of this season. They’re all very different.

“Senne is way more mature beyond his years, Cunha is a very charismatic player, and you see that on the pitch.

“Bryan is a bit more quiet, but as soon as he steps on the pitch, he becomes a leader, and Sesko has shown a hunger to improve every day since he’s been here, and we’ve seen the results over the last few months.”

Man Utd CEO Omar Berrada shares a telling reaction to Ineos’ transfer business last summer

Ineos are expected to have a busy summer window ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League campaign, with the midfield a key area to reinforce in the United squad.

Berrada admitted that the signings of Lammens, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko are key stepping stones for Ineos’ long-term vision.

“So, I think we’re very happy with the four senior signings we made and we want to continue along that track, without forgetting that we have a squad that is hungry for winning and for success,” he added.

Man Utd have already been busy in the transfer window and Atalanta and Brazil midfielder Ederson is tipped to be Michael Carrick’s first major summer signing.
