Ruben Amorim is ready to embrace the rich heritage and history of Manchester United by inviting former players back to the club.

When the chance to manage Manchester United emerged, Ruben Amorim jumped at the opportunity.

Amorim has frequently called United the biggest club in England as well as the “engine of the Premier League”. The club’s trophy-filled history is not lost on him.

When he first arrived, Amorim revealed his adoration for Roy Keane and Eric Cantona, stating that he would have loved to play alongside the United legends.

Amorim wants to stay at United for 20 years and forge his own history at Old Trafford, but he wouldn’t mind a helping hand from some of the club’s biggest icons.

David Beckham and Eric Cantona could return to Man Utd

According to The Sun, Amorim is planning to invite United legends to Carrington to offer advice and inspire his players.

Who is Manchester United’s best manager since Sir Alex Ferguson?

It is said that Amorim has “a deep admiration and appreciation” for United’s legends, and he particularly wants them to help advise academy players.

From his time as a player, Amorim appreciated former players coming to the training ground to tell stories and offer advice, and he wants to reintroduce that at United.

The report says that Amorim particularly holds Cantona in high regard, so the ‘King’ could soon return to Carrington to help inspire the dressing room.

David Beckham, who was recently knighted, is another United legend who could return, alongside Paul Scholes, Teddy Sheringham, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke.

Class of ’92 can help inspire Man United youth

United currently have an extremely exciting batch of youth players coming through the ranks at Carrington, and several will soon be knocking on the door of Amorim for a first-team opportunity.
