Ruben Amorim told to keep AC Milan star
There are several United players who could join Amorim in Milan as the Portuguese coach looks to build up his own squad at the San Siro.
Ex-Milan boss Capello has given his verdict on Ruben Amorim’s appointment and urged him to keep hold of Luka Modric.
As quoted by Italian outlet Gazzetta, Capello said: “Amorim’s AC Milan? It’s a double leap into the unknown, both for him and for the Rossoneri.
“The Portuguese doesn’t know Serie A.
“I hope he returns to being the Sporting manager. He’ll need to be brave, assert himself, and make his ideas count. Modric must stay.”

Luka Modric could be exposed in Ruben Amorim’s system
During his time at United, Amorim wanted players with intensity, especially in midfield.
Casemiro dropped down Amorim’s pecking order and, at one point, was below Toby Collyer before fighting his way back into contention.
In Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system, he relies heavily on mobile midfielders who can progress the ball forward.

Modric is one of the best players in the world with the ball at his feet, but at 40 years old he may struggle to match Amorim’s demands.
The Serie A is, of course, less physical and demanding than the Premier League, but Modric could struggle under Amorim.
