Ruben Amorim has now made the major call to bring one Manchester United star back into the first-team fold at Old Trafford in a bold move, according to reports.
The 40-year-old Manchester United manager is facing mounting pressure at Old Trafford after his side suffered their third Premier League defeat of the season.
United have struggled to build momentum since the start of the 2025-26 campaign in August, with the Red Devils only winning two Premier League matches.
The Red Devils currently languish in 14th place in the Premier League table after United’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.
Ruben Amorim was under the spotlight again after United’s result against Brentford, with the Red Devils still not winning back-to-back league matches under him.

Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim has now made the huge call over Tyrell Malacia at Old Trafford
Tyrell Malacia had been training with the Manchester United Under-21s after his move away from Old Trafford collapsed before the summer window shut.
The 26-year-old Dutch left-back had been on the verge of signing for La Liga outfit Elche in the summer, but the loan deal with United for Tyrell Malacia collapsed.
Malacia made a mark with the United Under-21s by leaving a lasting impression with his attitude and work rate, with the Red Devils defender earning a second chance.
Voetbal International now reports that the United full-back has ‘fought his way back into the sights’ of Ruben Amorim, who has now made a key call with Malacia.
The Dutch magazine added that United insiders have suggested that Amorim’s decision over Malacia was made with ‘immediate effect.’
Why Ruben Amorim made his decision to bring Tyrell Malacia back into the Man Utd first team
Tyrell Malacia spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign out on loan at PSV Eindhoven and the United defender struggled to impress during his spell.
PSV Eindhoven opted against signing Malacia permanently and the former Feyenoord man’s loan spell came to an end in June and he returned to United.
According to Voetbal International, United sources suggested that Amorim would now provide a ‘serious chance’ for Malacia to ‘fight his way back into the team.’
ESPN also cites a report from PA news agency that Malacia’s move from the United Under-21s back to the first team was a ‘planned change’ from the club.
It has been added that the sudden news around Malacia’s return under Amorim was ‘not’ in response to the Red Devils’ form or any ‘injuries suffered by other players.’
