Manchester United will be looking to get revenge on Spurs for the 3-0 Old Trafford thumping in September, but for Amorim, there was only one topic in the press conference.
This as expected was Marcus Rashford’s future, which dominated the presser and left Amorim giving answers.
Rashford announced he is looking for a new challenge on Tuesday, and now the United head coach has broken his silence.

Everything Ruben Amorim said about Marcus Rashford
On Wednesday, Amorim faced the media as broadcast by MUTV.
During the press conference, Amorim was asked about Rashford’s future, to which Amorim brilliantly spun the comments and suggested Rashford meant a new challenge inside United.
“He’s right. We have a new challenge here, the biggest in football. We’re in a difficult situation, and I hope all my players are ready.
“No [I’ve not spoken to Rashford yet]. We gave a day off to the lads. He’s our player and he’s ready for the next game.
Amorim was then asked if he wanted to keep Rashford at the club, and his response was clear.
“Of course, because this kind of club needs big talents and he is a big talent, so he just needs to perform at the highest level and that’s my goal. I just want to help Marcus.
“This is in the future, my focus is to have all the players in the best that they can be to prepare for each game. There is no if, at this kind of club, it is just Tottenham and let’s focus on this game.”

Ruben Amorim shows why he will be a success at Manchester United
Effortlessly, Amorim poured water over the fire which was burning around Rashford and United over the past few days.
By refusing the entertain the media talk or the idea that Rashford could leave, Amorim has shown his players that he will defend them and protect them until the end.
This quality is one Sir Alex Ferguson had, and it serves Amorim very well if he can replicate it.
United must develop a siege mentality, sticking together no matter what and Amorim has shown this with his treatment of Rashford.
Perhaps if Erik ten Hag had protected Rashford more, we would not be in the situation of his impending departure.
