The past 48 hours have seen Bruno Fernandes and Manchester United in the news, with Saudi Arabian interest in the midfielder intensifying.
It was been a magnificent individual campaign for Bruno Fernandes this season, with 37 goal contributions for the Red Devils thus far.
| Competition | Games | Goals | Assists | Minutes |
| Premier League | 33 | 8 | 10 | 2.762′ |
| Europa League | 12 | 7 | 4 | 1.101′ |
| FA Cup | 3 | 2 | 1 | 330′ |
| EFL Cup | 3 | 2 | 2 | 208′ |
| Community Shield | 1 | 0 | 1 | 90 |
| Total | 52 | 19 | 18 | 4,491 |
Such impressive levels this season and the previous half decade for Manchester United have seen Fernandes well established as one of the best attacking midfielders playing the sport today.
Now, this has led to substantial interest this summer from Al-Hilal, who aim to make Fernandes the record British transfer sale, a figure which would be above the £115m paid by Chelsea for Moises Caicedo.
Despite the money being offered, United fans are adamantly against selling Fernandes, with his impact on and off the pitch seen as being invaluable and irreplaceable.
This is a sentiment shared, with United having zero intention of allowing Fernandes to leave the club this summer.

Ruben Amorim responds to questions around Bruno Fernandes
With all this noise around the club and Fernandes, Amorim was always going to be asked about it when he sat down with the press for his pre-Athletic Club press conference on Wednesday.
This was exactly what happened, as one of the first questions asked was about Fernandes, to which Amorim shared the club’s stance as seen on MUTV.
“I think it is easy to understand, not just because of his numbers, but the way he plays, the importance he has had during his five years here.
“He’s a top player and we need the top players, he’s a leader, he’s the captain, so he’s really important. It’s normal that a lot of clubs will want a player like Bruno, or like Garnacho, or others.
“But we want to keep the best players, and Bruno is clearly one of the top players in the world. So our idea hasn’t changed; we want Bruno here.”
Bruno Fernandes’ impact is irreplaceable for Manchester United this summer
Selling Fernandes would hand United the finances to replace him, but it would not be worth the loss of what Fernandes brings to the club.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 13 | 35 | 12 | 5 | 18 | 51 | 62 | -11 | 41 | |
| 14 | 35 | 8 | 15 | 12 | 36 | 43 | -7 | 39 | |
| 15 | 35 | 10 | 9 | 16 | 42 | 51 | -9 | 39 | |
| 16 | 35 | 11 | 5 | 19 | 63 | 57 | 6 | 38 | |
| 17 | 35 | 9 | 10 | 16 | 40 | 59 | -19 | 37 |
Fernandes has 18 goal contributions, which account for 42 per cent of United’s entire goal tally of 42, showcasing just how vital he is for the club.
So while United might go out and sign a player who may be as talented, there is no way another player would carry a poor United side like this.
Selling this summer, almost sets United up to fail next season, instead Ineos should hold out until next summer after the World Cup when Amorim’s squad will be better placed to cope with the loss, and Fernandes can go and earn the £65m per season he is being offered.
Hopefully, Amorim’s stance is held throughout the entire club, and any approach is refuted.
