Roy Keane could not see eye to eye with former Manchester United teammates Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney over their scoreline prediction for the Brentford match.

Manchester United will finally return to Premier League action on Saturday for the first time since the start of the October international break.

Thomas Frank’s men will arrive at Old Trafford for their Premier League clash against United, with kick-off slated for 3pm UK time.

United have underperformed in the 2024-25 campaign and have only managed two Premier League wins in their opening seven league matches.

Erik ten Hag’s men picked up a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park in their last Premier League outing ahead of the October break.

Keane’s Man Utd vs Brentford prediction

Manchester United are 14th in the Premier League table with eight points, while Brentford are 11th and Thomas Frank’s side are two points clear of the Red Devils.

Brentford’s last Premier League outing resulted in a 5-3 win for Frank’s men at the Gtech Community Stadium before the start of the October international matches.

United and Brentford’s previous encounter at Old Trafford in the Premier League last season ended in a late 2-1 comeback win for the Red Devils.

Speaking on The Overlap’s ‘Super 6’ segment, Roy Keane was teamed up with Jill Scott and Ian Wright and they made their prediction for United’s upcoming match.

Keane insisted that he can’t see Brentford beating United at Old Trafford on Saturday and backed Erik ten Hag’s side to come out on top with a 2-1 win.

“Brentford aren’t winning at Old Trafford,” he said.

“Brentford aren’t. I know they’re having a decent season. Saying that United only beat them last minute; was it last year? [Scott] McTominay, 2-1. Brentford has some good chances.

“Although Brentford are having a good start, so they’ll go to Old Trafford and think they’re a team and enjoy it and then United will just go, ‘Listen, we still have a little bit of quality.’

“I think Brentford will score from a set play. We can’t keep going 2-1. 2-1 then, United aren’t scoring many goals.”

Neville and Rooney make Man Utd prediction

Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney wasted little time in making their prediction and the two United legends agreed on a 3-2 scoreline in favour of the Red Devils.

“I think they’ll score two. No, I think Brentford will score two [goals], counter-attack and a set piece,” Neville said.

“I think we will score three. 3-2.”

Responding to Neville and Rooney, Keane said: “Oh, it won’t be 3-2. You’re kidding yourselves. Playing with a back five.”
