Former Manchester United and Real Madrid superstar David Beckham admitted that one football legend was one of the most “electrifying” players on “every level.”

David Beckham called it time on his legendary playing career in 2013 after a brief spell with Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.

The 49-year-old former England captain had a long-lasting impact during his legendary playing spell at Old Trafford.

Beckham came through the Manchester United youth academy before establishing himself as a first-team player under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

During his time at Old Trafford, the United legend lifted six Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy and two FA Cups.

Beckham had a close relationship with Ferguson – seeing him as a ‘father figure’ – during his spell at Old Trafford before their connection at United fractured.

The former England and United winger left the Premier League club in 2003 and completed a blockbuster move to Real Madrid amid his falling out with Ferguson.

Beckham on incredible Real Madrid legend

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, David Beckham was asked to build his ultimate five-a-side team and he picked out Brazil legend Ronaldo.

Beckham crossed paths with Ronaldo during his time at Old Trafford, including playing against the former Brazil striker in the Champions League.

The ex-England international was a £24.5m signing for Madrid in 2003 and was part of the famed Galacticos era under Los Blancos president Florentino Perez.

Ronaldo was another key Galacticos signing under Florentino Perez after he left Inter Milan and completed a sensational transfer to the Spanish capital in 2002.

“The next one would have to be one of the greatest and most natural goal scorers that I have ever, ever seen, Ronaldo [R9],” Beckham told Rio Ferdinand.

“I think when you watch Ronnie play back in the day, I mean, he’s electrifying on every level […].”

During his time at Madrid, Beckham lifted a La Liga title with Los Blancos before he left the Spanish club and completed a move to MLS outfit LA Galaxy.

Beckham, who made 159 appearances for the La Liga club, also shared the pitch with Roberto Carlos and included his ex-Madrid teammate in his five-a-side team.

“I would have to say Roberto Carlos because he can play in defence and attack,” he said.

“He used to play more attack than defence, to be fair. And then I would have to say [Paolo] Maldini.”
