Roy Keane has suggested that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Manchester United might have overlooked one crucial detail with their appointment of Ruben Amorim.
Ruben Amorim will succeed Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout after the Dutchman was axed from Manchester United last week.
The 39-year-old Portuguese manager is thought of highly in Europe after his impressive work at Sporting CP, including lifting two Primeira Liga titles.
Amorim will arrive at the Red Devils after the start of the November international break, with United paying his £9.25m release clause in his Sporting CP contract.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was assistant manager to Erik ten Hag, is currently the United interim manager and will lead the club until Amorim’s arrival on 11th November.
Amorim’s first Premier League match in charge of United will be at Portman Road against Ipswich Town on 24th November.

Manchester United played out a lacklustre 1-1 Premier League draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday under Red Devils legend Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The Red Devils are currently 13th in the Premier League table and are six points adrift from the top four after their encounter with the Blues.
Speaking in the Sky Sports studio for the match coverage, Roy Keane raised his concerns over Sir Jim Ratcliffe and United’s contract length for Ruben Amorim.
Amorim signed an initial two-and-a-half-year contract with United until June 2027, with the Sporting CP manager’s deal including an option to extend it by a year.
However, Keane believes that Amorim “should have signed a longer contract” at United due to the massive task that awaits him at Old Trafford.
“He should have signed a longer contract,” he said.
“There is a long way back for this team. This is an average Manchester United team.
“All the stats back that up. They are hit-and-miss – you never know which team will turn up. Not good.”

Keane was far from impressed with the Red Devils’ performance and admitted that he was happy when the referee blew the full-time whistle at Old Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes fired United into the lead in the second half before Moises Caicedo cancelled out the Red Devils’ opener only minutes later.
“‘Boring’ seems a bit strong but they lack conviction,” Keane added.
“It’s really disappointing. It’s so flat. This team is way off it, getting back in the top four.
“You look at certain individuals and they think they’re better than they are. United are average at everything.
“There is nothing special about them. It was very quiet at Old Trafford. I was glad when the referee blew the final whistle.”
