It might be that Ronaldo is introduced from the bench, like Jadon Sancho was for his debut on the opening weekend against Leeds.
But Ronaldo’s last outing saw him score twice for Portugal against the Republic of Ireland and break the men’s international goal record, so there’s no real indication that he’d need to be eased in.
