Erik ten Hag has seriously struggled to get the best out of his Manchester United players this season.
The manager has had a whole host of off-and-on-the-pitch problems for him and his coaching staff to deal with, which has led to certain individuals in the squad definitely not performing to their usual standards.
The likes of Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Raphael Varane are the main culprits that come to mind in terms of underperformance.
Nevertheless, there is one player who does seem to be adhering to his normal extremely high standards. That man is Bruno Fernandes.

Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay differ on intriguing infographic
Football data site DataMB was able to generate an infographic which shows Premier League midfielder’s key passes per 90 coinciding with progressive passes per 90.
Although the Tweet is focusing on Cole Palmer, it’s Bruno Fernandes who is a cut above the rest by an absolute mile in the Premier League.
Kevin De Bruyne once labelled Bruno as a ‘creative machine‘. Well, this certainly backs it up.
But such as this accentuates the undeniable qualities of the Portuguese Magnifico, it also highlights the incompetence of Scott McTominay at the same time.
The Scotsman is at the other end of the spectrum, sitting lowest in the league for both of these this season.
Scott McTominay must improve this aspect of his game
This is a part of his game he really needs to work on. Although he’s proven competent in front of goal, McTominay does need to work on his chance creation.
He often goes quite absent in games when it comes to this, meaning we rely solely on Fernandes to be the creative outlet in midfield.
McTominay improving this would hopefully result in more chances, and ultimately more goals – something that Old Trafford has been absolutely starved of thus far this season.
We know it isn’t an integral part of Scott’s game, but if he wants to cement his place as a long-term Manchester United starter, improvement must be seen soon.
