Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has broken his silence for the first time after it was announced that he would be ruled out of action due to injury.

Rasmus Hojlund has been in the form of his life at Manchester United after he found the back of the net eight times in his last eight matches across all competitions.

The 21-year-old Denmark striker, who was signed last summer, has been important for United’s top-four Premier League challenge after his impressive run of form.

Hojlund has scored in his last six consecutive Premier League matches for United, including a stunning brace in a 2-1 win against Luton Town last Sunday.

The Danish forward endured a tough start to life in the Premier League after Hojlund went his first 14 league matches without scoring for United.

However, the former Atalanta man had seen a remarkable turnaround in form in recent weeks, with Hojlund widely praised for his impact in the final third.

Man Utd star Hojlund sends message

Manchester United on Friday announced that Rasmus Hojlund had suffered an injury and would be ruled out of action for the Fulham clash at Old Trafford today.

Red Devils supporters vented their frustrations over Hojlund’s injury, with the United player now sidelined alongside the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw.

“Rasmus Hojlund will miss Manchester United’s Premier League game against Fulham on Saturday due to a muscle injury,” reads the club’s statement.

“It is expected to keep him out for two to three weeks.”

Hojlund is now a doubt for a run of upcoming fixtures for United, including the trip to the Etihad for the Premier League clash against Manchester City next week.

However, the Denmark striker took to Instagram for the first time since his injury was announced and posted a heartfelt message for his United teammates.

Hojlund shared on Instagram Stories United’s pre-match post for the Fulham match and captioned it with a rallying call for the Red Devils.

“Cmon boisssssss [sic],” he wrote, adding a star-struck emoji.

Erik ten Hag on Hojlund’s injury

Speaking to Manchester United’s official website, Erik ten Hag insisted that United’s other attacking options would have to step up after the setback to Hojlund.

“We have our options in our squad,” he said.

“Of course, it’s a setback for Rasmus. It’s a setback for us that we can’t keep this process going from the three in the frontline.

“They were really complementary to each other lately, but I think also we can put out other frontlines who can become complementary and co-operate well together and create chances.

“As I said, they are all capable of scoring goals.”
