RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku has been added to Manchester United’s list of summer transfer targets, following the recommendation of Ralf Rangnick.
According to ESPN, United’s interim boss has urged the club to step up their interest in the attacking midfielder.
With a permanent successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer due to be announced at the end of the season, there could be a number of comings and goings taking place at Old Trafford in the summer.
It’s highly likely that Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani will all leave the club on free transfers.

Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial are both out on loan, but the new manager will decided on their long-term futures at the club. Mason Greenwood remains unavailable for selection.
With United continuing to squander a number of clear cut chances in games, signing one of the most in-form players in Europe could be a possibility.
Nkunku has scored 19 goals and registered 13 assists in 31 appearances at Leipzig this season.
Since being signed by the Bundesliga giants from Paris Saint Germain in July 2019 while Rangnick was the club’s sporting director, the 24-year-old has scored 31 goals and produced 40 assists from 115 games.

Although Nkunku had already attracted the attention of the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal, United’s interest has only emerged since Rangnick arrived at Old Trafford in December and reviewed the club’s list of potential signings.
Prior to Rangnick’s arrival at the Theatre of Dreams, Nkunku, who is yet to make his senior debut for France was not on United’s radar.
However, with the 63-year-old at the helm until the end of the season before moving upstairs to take a two-year consultancy role, United’s scouts have been instructed to increase their focus on Nkunku.
Capable of playing on the wings or in the attacking midfielder role, Christopher Nkunku, who has a contract at Leipzig until 2024, could be targeted by United in the summer.
